I was sitting around the fire last weekend when a few screech owls started making a racket in the trees around my camp. I would love to photograph these guys as well as some fly squirrels.

What are some proven methods to taking photos of wildlife in the dark? Do I need to go spend a ton of money flashes?

I shot this possum in full darkness with the built-in flash on my K100D at f/4.0, 100mm, 200 iso with the Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG
