Can't say I got a lot of "great" shots from my yard this weekend, but freezing temps may have had something to do with that. This Carolina wren is getting very comfortable with my being outside and is happy to pose.

For the first time today, I spotted a female Eastern Towhee in my yard. When I saw her, I was inside, thus the photo is through a patio door, without the benefit of a TC. Saw her briefly, and never got an opportunity for a better shot.

I'm firmly convinced the weather patterns this winter have the birds confused. This weekend, I had a flock of chipping sparrows in my yard. Normally, they are seen only in the heat of summer here.

This female Cardinal doesn't exactly qualify as a "little guy," but she was more than willing to pose (as long as I stayed on my side of the patio door)

through the patio door??
you were shooting through a window or screen??
that sure makes getting good resolution hard
i have given up shooting through my window
the results are real bad no matter what setting i use

the wren is a beauty
i hope you get lots more of it
it looks a character
and the sparrows are really clear
