Just want to show some spots in my neighborhood.

So I'm starting with Castle Den Brandt. It's at the edge of Antwerp, 5km from where I work.

Park Den Brandt and castle Den Brandt
This 14th Century estate evolved as a 'garden of pleasure' for the nobles and later on to a castle, as was the case with Middelheim.
Grounds and castle are now owned by the city.
The 'dancing nymphs' statue in front of the castle is the favourite spot for photo calls at weddings.
info borowed from the city's website

So nothing better to start with than with those nymphs.

pentax K10d, lensbaby 2, 50mm, f2, iso200, 1/1000sec

pentax k10d, tamron 18-200, 18mm, f9.5, iso140, 1/180sec, ev -1

pentax k20d, sigma 10-20 at 10mm, f9.5, iso100, 1/45sec, 1/2 ev
(had to crop more than with the previous shot, couldn't get close enough without getting wet)

A view from the backside

pentax k20d, sigma 10-20 at 20mm, f6.5, iso100, 1/350sec

Proof that spring is in the air.

Hope you liked the set, any and all c&c is welcome.

They are all nice, but the first one could use some more contrast.

How Cool to have a Castle in the neighborhood.

Great shots but with summer colors and sun these would be spectacular.

Beautiful! Some day I'll get there. I've traced my dad's family back to Chassepierre in the mid 1600's and my mom's line the mid 1700's from Liege and St Croixe and Zuyenkerke.
