Default Rock Harbor, Cape Cod MA

Rock Harbor is a tidal harbor in Orleans, MA. They have about (30) sport fishing boats-they only can go out an hour on either side of high tide. It is also a great place to watch a sunset. You are actually looking toward Boston. The night we were there was both-high tide and the sunset-about 300 people and a steel drum band. The first shot is one of the fishing boats returning-the kids were playing on the jetty waiting for the sunset. The second one is sunset with a -1 exposure compensation. I didn't have a ND filter with me-so had to improvise. Ist DS using DA 55-300

Cool silhouette. I just love them. Since I was so limited at the concert last night, I did quite a few silhouettes of the crowd against the bright backdrop of the stage.

Surprised no one mentioned the trees-each Spring they dredge the channel-then anchor trees to mark the way for the boats-the tides on Cape Cod Bay can be quite extreme-I have seen small boats stranded on the sand waiting for high tide waiting for their surprised captains.

Excellent Shots.
Just a question. Is this located off the Rotary As you Come off the HGWY porton of the Mid Cape??
A friend of Ours told me that as you are traveling Back towards the Mid cape(Towards Hyannis) and just as you enter the Rotary there is a road on the Right. If you take that road it takes you to a beach that has breath taking sunsets, Never Quite made it there. But Just Curious if its the same place

Just as you enter the Orleans Rotary there is a quick right turn-Rock Harbor Road-the harbor is about 2 miles from the turn.

Interesting. Hadn't noticed the trees on my laptop monitor, but see them now on my desktop. I thought they were just buoys last night.

Both great shots - I especially like the action in the first, and the mood of the 2nd.
