IOW, just use [img] before the link and [/img] after the link.

You can also do things like embed a smaller image that links to a larger image on a web site if someone clicks on it. Here's a page with examples:

Just keep the longest side to 1024 pixels or less and the file size down to under around 250KB, and the forums software will not try to do anything with them.

If you use Adobe RGB color space to photograph an image and then post it to the web you will find that the forum will show it in SRGB color space and the result will be darker with the wrong colors than what you saw on your computer before posting. The thing to do is change the photo's color space to SRGB before moving it or saving it to your hard drive after doing the post processing. I'll do a small post on this later.
