Now you have 8 color choices to choose from! These include black, white, navy, red, orange, purple, green, and bright blue.

I would have loved my K-7 in that orange!

I like that light blue, but don't think I'd buy one. Too bad they didn't come out with one in a more camoflage green color - that would be excellent for the K-7 and it's weather sealing, for shooting wildlife outdoors.
If you get the orange, you would never lose your camera. And it could be confused with some Caltrans piece of equipment. Those who live in Philadelphia would probably love it - just the right thing for Flyers fans. |

As for the others, I don't know. I think they've gone a bit too far with this. On a consumer point-n-shoot, sure. But on a dSLR, I dunno....

yea, i also liked the burnt reddish almost metalic brown one they have in japan too.
but yea, the olive drab would be perfect, not sure why they didnt release that one. it surely would outsell that crazy bright green. |

Billy - yes, that would be perfect. As you say, a little darker than the one pictured. Perhaps they are thinking it's too dull for those who would buy colored cameras, but it sure would appeal to me. That would take over my wish for a white "storm trooper" Kx.

My guess is that they chose the most popular colors ordered in Japan, but they might not have been the right choices for the US. Personally, I liked the chocolate brown with the gray grip, but I think that Pink would have been a big seller here.

Pink would go over big with many girls, and that would increase their customer base (it's always seemed to me that there are far more men who buy Pentax cameras than there are ladies).
I wonder just how bright that green one is in person - I have a very bright green Wrangler, and the camera might go with it perfectly. The picture makes it look brighter than the Jeep, something I didn't think would be possible. |
