i like to use my 10-17 as a macro too, you can get some really different results
I particularly like the detail in the second photos
the yellow against the purple is nice and sharp and stands out well
and in the last one too
and yes bumping into the subject can be a problem, i have also included my feet in the shot by accident and a finger or too thats just to far in front of the lens oooppss

oh! and the shadow of the camera
