Gary - Thanks for your kind words. You were here in the early spring, also a lovely time. You'll just have to come back in mid-spring next time (or maybe summer, fall, winter...)

GW - Indeed rather creepy looking. Even stranger is the life cycle - those orange "fingers" give off spores that only infect apple trees. The small black spots on the apples give off spores that only infect cedar trees. It takes both species of tree to keep the fungus going!

Scott - Thanks for your input - not "being wierd" at all, some great & helpful information. By the way, the "clover" leaves are actually the Wood Sorrell's leaves - do look a lot like clover...

Dustin - Thank you so much for the detailed and very helpful feedback. Your comments will give me a lot to think about and to work on. I appreciate it!

Ronny - Thanks for your very kind and specific comments.

Frogfish - Thanks! This is indeed a lovely place to live and to work.

Penolta - Indeed much diversity in the hills of TN!

Gumnut - It is indeed an Oxalis - same genus, different species. We have another species that will soon be blooming up in the mts that is white & red. Would be glad to mail you a packet of fog if you need some more!
