I love the details, especially in the eyes.

Never really noticed anything like this before. And then I just saw a bug with the same eyes as your first one while I was outside playing with my youngest. Go figure.

Hoverflies are quite common, (at least around here !), and there seem to be a number of different varieties however they are generally much smaller than say bees or wasps.
