Default Hawaii 2010--Post 1

Last year, I could wait to jump into boring the forum with my vacation pics from Hawaii.... posting daily from the first day I was in the islands. This year has not been the same... and the primary reason has to do with why I found myself at the ER of the Castle Medical Center on July 3. Bottom line....I had a cold/sinus infection/bronchitis....i.e. the crud.

I hate nothing more than when it occurs on vacation. Finally, on July 4th, I began to move a little, but then my wife caught it......

We went with my son's friends on the 4th to Bellows Beach on Oahu.....

Since then we have been getting out and about a little more....still our opportunities have been limited. First is a sunrise and the next is a lucky catch of earliy morning sun and clouds on the Koolohah's

All pics taken with the Pentax k-7.

Sorry to hear about your illness ... it's such a pain when that happens on your 'planned to the minute detail' holiday and everything is thrown out of the window. Hope you are on the mend now.

Cracking sunset ! For the sunrise, there is a special quality to it but I'd be tempted to convert that into a panorama as there is a lot of sky and dark trees. Starting just above the trees on the right and cutting off a bit below what looks like a horse's head, that would give you 50/50 sky / trees.

Great serirs, Paul!
I can understand being ill on vacation. seems the only time I'm off is when I'm in the hospital. or ill.

Life's a breeze on a Goldwing...

Nothing worse than being sick while away from home, and especially on vacation. Love your sunrise image the best!

Paul, nice shots! Love the sunrise as well.

I managed to stay well on our vacation but became ill on the plane ride back and couldn't kick it for 3 weeks.

There is nothing worse than being sick when it's on YOUR time, especially vacation time. And it's much worse when you aren't home.

Glad to hear you are feeling better, but I can't think of a worse place to stay when visiting Hawaii. These pictures are excellent, I love the last one.
