Default Pentax K-x shutter

Is there a way to keep the shutter open on the k-x for longer then 30 sec.? Also what is the K-x's sensor size?

I believe it has a 'B' (bulb) mode, which lets you hold the shutter open as long as you want. This is usually best done with a remote release.
The sensor is a 1.5x crop APS-C sensor. About 16x24mm

you'd probably do better asking pentax specific questions in the pentax slr forum - lots of people there to answer your questions

You need a infra remote control, not a cable release. There are cable releases incorrectly sold on the web that claim to be for the Kx. The Kx had no cable socket. You can also just hold the button down as long as you want in Bulb Mode.
