thanks, everybody. sorry it took me sooo looooooooooooooooong to respond to your comments, but i have a new job now (yay!) which is taking up alot of my time. anyhow, i took these photos by shining a clamp light through the opposite end of the kaleidoscope and carefully balancing the camera with one hand and my face while i held the kaleidoscope still with the other hand. BUT, now that i have a cool tripod that someone awesome gave me (thanks mole...) i'm going to try this type of photo again with the tripod, which will probably make the whole process easier...

Sorry - but I think you need to recreate the exact same patterns before we can accept it as valid
