Default Unknown bird...

Hello all!

Came real close to a bird today, it is very small maybe 5-8 cm tall and it was running around in our lilacs.

If anyone knows the bird, please let me know

Hi Michael,

My first guess is a female House Sparrow (also known as the English Sparrow over here), but the touch of yellow on the throat is throwing me off. . .

They are extremely common over here, with their range covering just about all of the Continental US. They are about one of the few birds I see commonly year-round with the relatively severe winters we have.

Nice job focusing through the branches, BTW.

I have literally hundreds of shots of these guys as I regularly use them to test lenses since they're so easy to find, but I only seem to have pics of males already processed. I'll see if I can dig up a good one of a female and add it to this post.
