Default Squirrel Building Nest?

First time I have seen this. This squirrel was building a nest in an oak tree in Wakodahatchee Wetlands. The nest had one small opening. The squirrel would jump to another tree, bite off a branch and take it inside the nest

These are some very good shots, Ed. When I read your post, I wasn't sure if you meant you had never heard of squirrels nesting in trees, or had just never witnessed it. I have known they nest in trees, and have seen plenty of nests, but have never had the opportunity to capture the mother squirrel going n and out. Very nice.
