Default Stalking Heron

Someone forgot to tell this Black-crowned Night Heron it was daytime. Heron was stalking in water covered with duck weed in Green Cay Wetlands.
Looks like they can see or sense through the stuff.

Maybe he was up all night, trying to get a bite, with no luck. Now that he's had his dinner, he can go to bed.

Great series! I like seeing the happy ending.

great shots! #2 and #4 are my favourites.

Sidenote: all 4 shots look very sharp/crisp on my monitor. I am sure this is nice for printing, but it has kind of a overprocessed feeling for me when I see the images on my TFT screen. Any special sharpening/contrast enhancement you did?

Kind regards,

He sure does seem to be looking, not just listening. Wonder if they can see slight movements in the duckweed as fish swim beneath...
Love the green-specked legs on #2!

Ha! that little fish hardly looks worth the trouble.
