Sometimes the K-7 does alright in the dark

Went to see the amazing Kina Grannis in concert tonight, very *very* difficult lighting, so decided to slap on the Tamron 90mm f/2.8 Macro lens as I needed some fast glass, and the only other thing I had was the 28mm F/2.5 which wasn't long enough.

Considering this was ISO1600 on a K-7 in blooming JPEG mode as I was so excited I forgot to put it in RAW mode, I think these came out reasonably well.









I know there's a lot of hot pixels, I was doing a lot of video as well so the sensor was toasty by the time the concert was over...

More than all right - these are very nicely done! I love them. That Tamron sure did a great job, even at f2.8.

considering the very challenging lighting conditions, these are fantastic! There was a thread on another forum, about difficulty in taking good photos with led based magenta lights, and issues with good focus. You did very good!

Yeah I could have done with something a lot faster, but the DOF was a challenge at f/2.8, I don't think I could have coped with anything smaller as these were taken with live view and the camera held above my head. The lag on the K-7 is pretty bad with live view.
