This month’s challenge will be SPIRALS. Anything goes as long as there is a spiral in it. It can be a screw, spring, staircase whirlpools wire rope, etc. Same rules as always, pictures have to be taken within the last 3 months with Pentax or Samsung DSLR cameras.

Well, once again I neglected to vote (would have voted for Lou if I'd remembered....) Congratulations on a well-deserved win, and thanks for another very interesting challenge.

I will hold a place with this one and look for others during the month. This is a Bamboo plant that grows in our Kitchen.

Out on the trail today (trail inspection, clearing fallen trees, etc), and noticed a White Oak that had been injured. Injury site was coated with fermented sap - very attractive to some insects. Got some fun late-season butterfly shots, including several spiraling "tongues." Here's an example, and my entry for the monthly challenge - a Question Mark butterfly about to unroll his "tongue" to enjoy the rotten sap... (cropped to show detail)

It looks like we are off to a fine start. I think if we all look around us the number of spirals in our world are quite numerous and should be the subject of some fine photographs. Let's keep them coming!

Catbells, in another 2000 years they will rediscover it and say the Druids had returned and were trying to tell us something. Now what could it be............?
That is a cool spiral. Lou |
