Default The results are in!!

Well, my little duct tape set-up appears to have worked as anticipated. However, I didn't expect TWO raccoons!! One was clearly younger than the other. These are manual focus. I kind of surprised myself in that they turned out much sharper than I expected (my eyes ain't all that great and focusing in the dark ain't exactly easy!). Flash does not faze these guys one, tiny bit.

Ok, I know these fellows can be horrible pests, stealing food and generally causing havoc. But they are so darn cute! I'm really impressed with your pictures.

#7 and #8 are great portraits. #5 is unique and instructive as it shows the teeth of the varmints that one usually never sees.

Thanks very much, everyone. They showed up pretty early -- around 9PM. First the younger one and then both of them. This was NOT an easy shoot. Shooting through double-pane glass into the night on manual focus is fairly difficult. If I do it again, I think I'll have my wife at the switch for the porch lights if for nothing else but to give me some focusing light.
