I recently purchased a Sony Alpha A330 so I could use my old Minolta Maxxum lens collection. Well when I used it a little and Annette (my wife) saw the features of the camera, I realized that she could make better use of it than I would. As a result I now have her K100D Super and DA 35mm f2.4 lens and she has the Sony plus a 19-35mm f3.5-4.5 Cosina, 35-70mm f4 Minolta, 50mm f1.7 Minolta, 50mm f2.8 1:1 Macro Minolta and a 70-210mm f4 Minolta (the beercan). She is happy and I now have another 6mp Pentax to replace my recently deceased DL.
She got a lot of gear and I got a lightweight DSLR/lens combo that I really enjoy (K100 with DA 35). I realize that I could have an excellent full-frame kit with those Minolta lenses and an a99 Sony, but who can afford an a99, for that money I could have a Pentax K5 IIs and still have enough for a good lens.
