Out on the trails a lot lately, and so many chances to interact with our burgeoning deer herd. They are especially numerous in the old beech forests (good browse and tasty seeds as well), so here are a few snapshots of a fine old beech, warm in the low winter sun...

Deer thrive on abundant moisture, so here are a few views of the fogs and damps of later winter...

And some curious deer - watching the crazy man with the trail clippers and the annoying camera...

Have an abundance of additional "critter pictures" from recent days on the trail, but no time yet for PP work. Hope you enjoyed this little stroll, and that you will share your comments & critique!

Really enjoyed these Mole! Absolute clarity and sharpness, but never a hint of "oversharpening" or anything... just lovely photos. Great job!

Very nice Mole, perfect time of year for deer shots and great captures, also love the fog shots the last being my favorite.

Gary - So glad you enjoyed them!
Ned - Thanks for your very kind words. I am indeed blessed to live in such a beautiful place... Hans - Thanks so much! It is indeed a great time to visit with the deer. Our Wild Turkeys are beginning to strut, so hoping to find some time to visit with them too. Forzahibs - Thanks!! That was a day of some unusual low fog, and some great morning light on the old barn too. |

Wow Mole, those are truly enormous beech trees. I have never seen such large specimens. I'm not sure if our colder winters prevent beeches from getting so large, or if we simply don't have beech trees that are as old as yours, but in either case they are truly majestic trees. The brilliant deep blue winter sky also is very inviting.
I am also very taken by the fog and reflections in your lakes. A very nice series of photos. |
