Sorry everyone. I was traveling all day yesterday and am just now getting on the computer. Came to announce voting to start, and see that people have started. So, on with the voting. I'll keep it open until Friday night the 5th.

Lots of nice images to choose from.

There are several I really like or find interesting. I like Lou's processing, but think I might have left the bird in color and had the water in b&w. Or maybe not as it might have lowered the out-of-frame effect. I still haven't tried doing this technique, and I always enjoy the effect.

The picture I really liked when I first saw it and the one that stayed with me the most is Kashka's night snow scene. So I'm going to vote for it.

I like Mole's Owl and Corey's is a fine attempt too however my vote goes to Lou for thinking outside of the box (pun intended) !

This is really hard!..I am a big fan of b/w and they are all great but I am torn between Moles eagle and Lyrics shot with the screen..But because I love birds just as much as b/w,my vote goes to Mole..The eyes (and talons) have it..

I forgot to enter, oh well, I like the cjthib self portrait. Very dramatic and original.

Wow what a tough decision -- so many good choices. In the end I have to vote for Kevin's (Frogfish) Pied Avocets. If ever there was a bird that is ideally suited for B&W, this is it. Corey's delightful and creative self portrait, and Kashka's beautiful snow scene both receive very high honors as well.

As usual, so many fine photos, and it is so hard to choose...
Will vote for Corey's self-portrait (with Harriet's IR water a very close second...)
