Default 10 minute, after work, test of my new Sigma super zoom

People may love their primes, I do too...but I'm very happy with the performance here. With a bit of lens profile correction and quick exposure compensation you can get some great results!

nice images for an all-in-one lens. Looks like a keeper.

I have always felt superzoom lenses are highly underappreciated. I have had the Tamron 18-250 since I got my first DSLR, K10D, and it has lived on several camera upgrades since. Nice shots.

I agree. All of these images are wide open too, so I could probably gain a bit more sharpness by stopping down. I was shooting in fading light though (an hour or two before dusk) so I stayed open as possible. I'm very happy to get images like that from a lens with such range. I feel like the bokeh is acceptable enough too. Plus, the HSM is almost silent.

Very nice! I think people remember the old days when superzoom lenses really were lousy. Tamron proved them wrong with the 18-250 and Sigma has figured it out too, it seems. These are very nice!

Some very fine results with the "superzoom!" I used to have the Tamron equivalent, but was never satisfied with sharpness. Looks like yours is better than the tamron for sharpness, and just as good at color rendition.
