Default December Monthly Challenge

Dear all, the theme for this month's challenge is churches. It fits the season and works above or below the equator! Can be any shot, inside or out. It just has to have something in it that lets us know it's a church. The rules are as usual, a Pentax or Samsung DSLR and the shot needs to have been taken in the last 3 months by the one who submits the photo. Good luck and amazingly enough, our next judging will be in 2014!

St Oswalds Church in Winwick , Lancashire where i lived as a youngster .
There is evidence that Christianity has been practiced on the site for more than 1000 years and the church is mentioned in the doomsday book .

Got to work on it as I have not been shooting in church for some time. This is not a submission as it was taken way back in S France (from FA28mm 2.8)

It just snowed here in Ohio so I wanted to get a shot of the church at which I am a pastor. Yesterday the evening sky cooperated nicely behind our bell tower and here was the result: DL with kit lens and some playing with the light on Picasa.

Well, my original plan was to take some photos of our church congregation, since the Church is the people, rather than just the building.

But I kept forgetting to bring the camera to church...

So here's a snapshot of a nearby church building - one my wife always admires when we drive past it. It's called Double Springs Baptist.

(PS - just in case you are curious why it's called Double Springs, here is a snapshot of the historical sign...)

I've been away from a computer for the last few days. It's past time to vote. Please feel free.
