Default Rodeo

Arcadia Rodeo yesterday shot 359, below are my favorite 12 all shot with K30 and DAL 55-300. Got lucky with seats in the shade and the sun at my back, could have been a little higher. Great afternoon of fun

Incredible action, well done! I've never been a fan of bull riding (why climb on something you know you are going to come off of in seconds, and that would love to kill you) but your pictures do an excellent job of showing just how dangerous a sport it is. Love the other ones, much more my thing (you don't always come off a bronc, and even if you do, the horse will leave, not try to kill you).

It's funny how we sometimes notice things you wouldn't otherwise notice. In the first picture I noticed that the bronc doesn't have shoes on, while the outriders are well shod and protected. It looks like the saddle broncs are similarly unshod, though it's hard to tell in some of the shots. I also noticed that the bareback bronc doesn't have any type of headstall, not sure I knew that. I was never much of a rodeo person - horse shows were more my line. But I always enjoyed roping and calf wrestling etc. the few times I've gone to a real rodeo. Love the pictures, and the DA 55-300 did quite well.
