Default New K5 IIs replacement for K30

The new K5 IIs arrived via FedEx before breakfast (no big deal, I'm not a morning person anymore). But I was surprised, having just ordered it from Buydig last Friday.

I think my first and very favorable impressions is how quiet the shutter is compared to the K30, K20, K100. Next is it's sharpness. I think I'm going to like it.

Here are some samples, right out of the camera, just resized. Nothing special, I have a learning curve to climb.

(Pioneer CS-99 and CS-a500 Speakers)

(Kenwood KD-3070)

(Pioneer SX-1000tw)

(Rest in Peace Joe - one of my favorite Albums - "With a Little Help From My Friends" - makes me think of all of you on this forum - giving a wealth of help to your fellow Pentaxians - Thanks to all of you, Merry Christmas!!)

I was saddened to hear of his passing, he was an interesting talent.

Glad you are enjoying the K5IIs - not having the AA filter is so cool - there's a sharpness/crispness to the photos that I find very pleasing. When I was looking at comparisons, it didn't seem like there was a huge difference, but once I looked at my own pictures, I was very pleasantly surprised at just how much I did gain.

Don't be afraid to lighten the shadows - you can recoup a ton of detail before you get any noise. And I always loved shooting with ISO 80.
