Hyvää iltaa, Ned
Since I wrote that I had an opportunity to try the K-1 in real life, and fell for the temptation. I preordered.
I got a message from the importer this morning (thursday), saying they have got a shipment yesterday and that they will do all they can to get some shipped to my retailer during the day. If transport is really efficient (which I hope but don't dare count on) the shop in Lund gets it tomorrow, and I can drive down (80 kms) and pick it up after work before they close att 18.00 hours.
More likely, it'll be there monday.
The price in Sweden is SEK 19 670, the same from all major sellers like Mattssons, Scandinavian Photo and Cyberphoto. With todays VISA exchange rate that is EUR 2 150 or USD 2 437.

After next weekend I'll be able to give first impressions, own experience!

Now it's here!
Pictures taken with the very K-1 to come. This one was taken with my still beloved *istDS.

First (very early) impressions: OK, it's bigger. But not that much bigger, feels very comfortable in my hand. Heavier, yes. But still quite possible to carry (says he who have carried it for several minutes). Easy to use, I haven't opened the manual yet but have made the basic setting to my liking. Menues are easy to navigate and much like the K5's. Lovely to see the full angel of view with the A15mm and FA 35mm lenses. Some more serious shooting tomorrow.

Finally got my K1. Decided to look at the way it handles noise. Just a few quick shots out of the box. All shot hand held and only resized.

Wish I had the cash. High frame rate is not an issue for me, I rarely use continuous shooting modes and I still have the K5 and an Olympus E-P5 if I need speed. I have FA lenses from 28-200mm none slower than f4 so this would make a nice addition. Congrats on your new toy guys.
