I've recently purchased my ist DS and bought a PNY 1 GByte SD Card which appears to work fine when writing JPEGS at full size ( 3008x2008 ) and best quality level ( *** ); several consecutive images can be saved without any noticeable buffer/write limitations.

I've only tried RAW on a few occasions & obviously the write time is noticeably longer.

How good is the PNY SD Card - it appears fast enough but is it fast enough to cope with RAW.

Will a Sandisc Ultra II make any difference - will the camera take advantage of the higher speed SD Card.

I used a Lexar 1GB regular speed card for a bit in my DS and it seemed to work OK, but my Kingston 512 60x card writes much faster especially with RAW files.

Downloads are also much faster if that makes any difference to you.

I bought the San Disk Extreme III - 1 GB card. It's a 133X card and is extremely fast on RAW especially in Continuous drive mode. In fact it writes the same speed RAW as large JPEG. It's a bit pricey but........very fast!
