I'm extremely confused with the compatability of older Pentax lenses with the *istDS. I'm looking for a 50mm at least f2 prime, but I'm clueless as to what pentax primes will AF on the *istDS. From what I've read, A type lens's require an adapter to AF propearly. Is this true, and is the adapter hard to find? Are F type 50mm primes the only ones that will AF on the *istDS out of the box?

Thanks for the help!

as far as i know from my older lenses any auto focus pentax mount lens will work. the A,F, and FA. the FA being the best glass. look on ebay, do a google search. there are a lot out out there.

Only the F and FA lenses will auto focus, while the M and A lenses require the Pentax AF 1.7 adapter to autofocus and they are usually on ebay for around $150.
