I would like to buy a large telelens (about 500 mm). Can a Sigma 50-500 mm F4 - 6,3 EX APO or some lens like that be combined with my Pentax *ist ds? Which one is the best (max. about 1000 euro)

the ''bigma'' 50-500 will work fine w/the ist. hope you have a stury tripod for any of these super zooms. get a 2x teleconverter and w/it and the magnification factor of 1.5 for the ist, it'll be the same as 1500mm 35film cam.

Yeah i was looking at that very lens, but quite expensive still for me. I think it also comes with a free 2x converter (or maybe thats just my store).

On a side note, is it possible to couple 2x converters? I know using them reduces by a couple stops as it is, or something like that
