I just picked up one at a camera show, and it works fine. Mine works with a fingernail, and it's no problem at all.

Considering it opens up an entire galaxy of very good lenses for your camera, it's well worth getting one. I like sports photography, but was having troublegetting good shots at indoor soccer.

Mating ascrewmount 85/1.8Super Multi-coated Takumar to the*istDS was a great solution. It is the equivalent of a 127 1.8, two stops faster than the lens I had before.

Taking that ring off and on to switch to k lenses is a pain either way .. imho. My solution was to take the ring, remove the little spring catch tab and (semi) permanently screw ON THE LENS. Then you just file or drill a small notch on the lens and it locks in place just like a regular k mount lens. Much easier to actually use now!
