It is a M42 mount 1000mm F8 lens, kinda old but bloody huge. :?

Curious as to what something like this is worth

There is a newer one on Ebay as well, Sigma 1000mm F8 APO AF Lens, but it is a Canon mount.

The 12 lb lens originally came with a wooden box and 26 lb metal tripod from Pentax in its own wooden box and was $1,200 new in 1969. The M42 lens will normally will sell for around $500 USD to $800 USD depending on condition and is one of the better 1,000mm lenses out there.

Like the 500mm f/4.5 it takes filters in the rear and is totally manual focus. I have only used one once many years ago and it took nice images, but suffered from distortion from atmospheric changes at long distances.

It has five elements, munimum focusing distance is 98 feet-yes I said 98'.
