I'm about to buy Pentax *ist DS2.

I have Nikon SB-50DX flash that I have used it with Nikon Coolpix 995 and 5000.

Can I use this flash on DS2? I believe that Nikon SB-50DX is TTL flash.

Thanks in advance.

The TTL function will almost certainly not work. The flash may only fire a full blast each time, unless it has a Non-TTL automatic function (sorry I am not familiar with that particular flash).

Companies like Sunpak or Sigma that make dedicated flash units for different camera models require different control modules for each system.

if it will work as a manual flash then yes you can. you will have to set the camera's setting manually tho.
