I'll point out that in my two latest shots, there is a yellow cast in the portions lit by the overhead street lamp, which is not a tungsten bulb. In the areas where the lighting is actually by tunsten bulb, that portion of the picture has true white rendered and no yellow cast. (The Evoo store sign has gooseneck lamps over it; the house facade and porch are lit by hidden bulbs.)

I am using only "freeware" (InfraView and BIMP Lite) and neither seem to have white-balance compensation explicitly.

I haven't looked at the Pentax software (is it worth it?)?

Suggestions on freeware welcome, that can do what is being suggested.

BTW, I did a series of BW settings to find out if any made a difference. In just the 3 sec LCD display of each shot, I knew that Tungsten-setting "was it" when that shot finished it's dark noise substraction.

This street light and car light experimentation is not idle play: in the last two years I have had to shoot many historic marker signs "in thedark" and without flash. I have always been a auto-mode shooter and that doesn't always work out when phtographing in the dark.
