Owl Goes To Boot Camp
K10D W/Bigma taken near Delta, Utah. Lots of smog and in the evening light what there was of it. I saw him flying and then he dived into a field. I figured this would give me a chance to get closer while he was having a snack. I got myself in between the field and a dead tree and the pole. I was thinking after lunch he would fly to one or the other so he could be avove the field. As you can see from the photos he picked the pole. Waiting for the Drill Instructor ![]() Front and Center ![]() Right Face ![]() About Face ![]() Left Face ![]() Stand At Ease ![]() Lie Of The Day is - This was on purpose, he did everything I told him to do when I told him to do it. One of two things 1. He is a good recruit 2. I am a good drill instructor TOTALLY WACKY roger |

Awesome shot. Very sharp with good contrast and color saturation. You should have made him drop and give you 10 pushups!

Any tips on steadying the camera when you are extended this far out? Even with shake reduction, your shots at 500mm are still quite impressive. Tac sharp!

Great shots and I love your story that went with it. Thanks very much for sharing - though I must admit to being frustrated at the moment- looking at your awesome pictures makes me realize just how limited mine are.

What I am trying to teach myself is to push the tripod collar thing down firm on to what ever I have it on. If I can't find anything good to set it on I use my binocular harness. Many times I have used both at the same time. Thanks for the kind comment TOTALLY WACKY roger |
