Hi Roy, especially true if you consider the Voigtlander 125 - it's stellar!

The difference is the focal length and the very tight FOV on an APS-C sensor. That coupled with the close working distance of 11 inches from the front element with 200mm is a big advantage when photographing skittish subjects. Most butterfly shots are from 2-3 feet away if they are larger ones. To me, that's the big deal. Besides, the closest in terms of focal length is the Sigma 180mm and I have seen some truly excellent images in capable hands. I guess what I am saying is that the final image will be greatly dependent with the person behind the camera.

It's true that more than a few copies of this lens were used on the Canon bodies. I think they are all quite close though!
