OK, here is a series of photo's of the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep shot at Logan's Pass at Glacier National Park.

This pass is right between the two peaks here that I call: "Gateway to Heaven!"

These two had just crossed the road at Logan's Pass and I pulled over and went after them.
Found them after I went through some trees before they started up the steep mountain.

Wanna butt heads?

Lounging before the climb

Starting their climb... after they pee!

You have to look for the two specks in the snow to see them now!

This was worth the 2,076 miles we traveled just to get these shots!
Sure, you can go to the ZOO and get the same shots, but it is more special to do it in the wild.

I beg to disagree. You can't get a spectacular series of shots like these in ANY zoo. Sensational work, Jack.

i've been close to GNP a couple of times but the weather (fall) changes stopped me from visiting.. the bighorns seem to be quite tame.. i've been to parks here in TX that have deer the same.

Wonderful shots, the sheep look like they are in the middle of shedding their winter coats, they look pretty ragged. And how did you manage to get them peeing at the same time? Never knew they'd do that. One of these days I'll make it over there, your pictures are making me turn green with envy.

These are awesome images! I rode Amtrak's "Empire Builder" from Chicago to Seattle through GNP n 2006 and have it on my bucket list as a place to return and explore!

Fantastic! The portrait of the BHS is my favorite followed closely by the shot of Logan Pass.

Great Shots!!!!

I was there many years ago with My ME. The rangers actually had to chase us of one of the trails because some grizzly's were on the trail

Awesome place to Visit

When I was at Jasper in Canada a few days earlier, the campgrounds were closed to camping due to bear problems... and at Glacier, the Rangers were being extremely careful, patrolling campsites every hour to make sure people weren't leaving their food, coolers out etc.

What a fine series - impressive subjects, excellent color and composition, and wonderfully explained as well. Isn't it great to know that places like this are set aside for us and for the future!
