Thanks to everyone for participating in last month's competition and thank you for the votes. I think for this month we will do something inspired by one of last month's shots. I thought Patty's cannonball missing person was a great interpretation of the theme. So for this month we will do "Splash" as the theme. With so much creativity in this group I am really looking forward to some wonderful shots. The regular rules will apply. Good luck everyone!

Hmmmm - that's going to take some thought. I can think of a number of pictures I could take, pictures that others have taken and a couple of different ways of interpreting the word "splash". Could be a rather wet month, or maybe not...

If it was summer, I would have no problem. At freezing temperatures, however, there aren't many people splashing around in our lakes and rivers. As Indiana Jones said, "I'll think of something."

The evening after you posted this I thought of a number of ways of interpreting "splash". But now I can't remember them! I'm tied up with family stuff at the moment, but I'll have some time to think about it next weekend.

As soon as I saw the challenge subject I thought of this photo I took at the lake..This big old cormorant was on the beach oblivious to all the kids and was concerned with just cleaning and preening so I was snapping away when both our shutters coincided.I hope you find this amusing and not offensive..if so I will remove it...
