I think the shot is very good, but the edge effect is very distracting and unattractive. It makes the father and daughter in front look like double amputees.

Hi Joeybob,

I think you've caught a very "sweet" family moment here, and I think you've done well. Getting 2 adults and 3 young girls to pose naturally and beautifully for a camera in the outdoors isn't all that easy, to have a well composed and balanced look (both in terms of exposures, colours, smiles (over done, nervous, etc).

So congratulations. I love the colours and the exposure. They look like they enjoyed being photographed too!

I would have to agree though, with tclune. I had the same conclusion (awkward crop) before reading his post... but it doesn't destroy the fact you've captured a great moment imho!

Well done, keep practising. I'm sure the family (your friends) are happy with the photo, right?
