I find Chato’s street photographs too casual and with few narrative and aesthetic points of interest. Many things are missing in his random street picks: a good (innovative) story, a documentary (needed) representation, a motivating telling… something that works not just for he, but for the observer also. Above all: beauty, which I feel is very much absent here.
III. If controversy sells I want a part of the cake!
A photograph shouldn't NEED a narative - And those remarks of yours are a critique in and of themselves. A title should be narrative enough.
I provided a narrative on one shot, but that's because it was modified (and basically killed) by blurring the faces. Actually my favorite shot of the group - and dead as a doornail. I posted it anyway to show the kind of shot that is probably going to get the photographer in trouble.
