Young ladies were being interviewed for a radio program...

Although the interviewee is striking, the photo appears way over sharpened, even to the point of resulting in an overall fake/synthetic look. (Check carefully the boundary of the subjects right arm.)

Hints of sharpening on features such as just the eyes under the right situations is quite acceptable and may add a welcome beneficial touch. And it might be surprising to some that a slight "blur" or less than sharp focus can more often than not be just the right ingredient.

Thanks for your reply; I had only applied one default smart sharpen to this photo taken with the 17-50 Sigma which is a pretty sharp lens, especially for a DX lens. In-camera sharpening is set to '6' on a scale of 0 to 9. I had also touched up the young woman's face and it looks like I went too far on that; I had taken other shots of girls that day without seeing that edge on the arms though. The image is cropped about 25%. Here's an earlier version . . .
