I like the post work done on the girl. But could you show us the same image before you monkeyed with the floor?

No Problemo.

This was captured in tungstens instead of my regular strobes hence the slow shutter speed, but Asia was quite capable and the Sony built-in stabilization did the trick as well.

No Flood effect:

Thanks for showing this. I find the grungy floor less distracting than your puddle floor. The shadows are very sharp. Would a diffuser been better to soften them or did you want them to be as sharp as they are? In the B&W version her legs are given a different shape. Lots to analyze in the pic but I really like it. A slight turn of her head so she is looking at the viewer would have been nice.

Theses are "HOT" light, and I mean really hot, plus they have fresnel lenses so that the nature of the resulting beams. The only control I had was the four barn doors on each light to shape the shooting area on the floor.

Any thing attached to this two lights would have gone up in flame.
Also the shutter speed would have been even lower if the light were to be diffused... (I should have stayed with the strobes)

Nowadays with LED lights you can have the light you want without the heat. A couple days ago I picked up a Lume Cube. Check it out on Google. In the US about $80 ea. Completely waterproof to 100 feet. 0 - 1500 lumens and 6000K color temperature. And only 1" square. I guess the advantage of 'hot' lights is it keeps the model warm.

NHL- I really like the first pic. Very striking, strong contrast- and dare I say "arty"...
Would look great in a large print on a light, plain wall...
