Dear All,

Have not been visited the site for a very long time. Attached is a photo I shot during my travel trip to Phanrang which is about 300 km far away fromSaigon. This city is notvery populatedat present. All the colors of the locals, esp the ethnic people are still intact. In the photo is the Champ old woman who is still working in a small pottery shop and we asked her to sit for a pose.

Photo taken with my Canon EOS 30D, lens Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L. I named the photo "yesterday and now" as there are many contrasts in the picture. Have look and tell me what you have found. :-)

Thanks for your viewing and commenting.

Great picture & the right title. It is a lethal combination
What I love in this whole picture is.
unidirectional light falling on old lady plus the b/g of staute. Everything are working for it.Thanx for sharing
Looking forward to view more of your work.

I think a menifestation of the contrast you mentionis quiteobservablein the eyes and on thedramatic facialexpression of the wise old ladybacked by thevoluptious features of the assertive Yakshi depictions but with closed eye lids, at the background:!:

That's quite a dramatic image, indeed

Congratulations Quan this is one of the best photos I've seen on Steve's for a while, you always produce wonderful shots that all of us (if bothered) can learn from, I would love to be able to produce such quality. It is refreshing that this quality is displayed here and I hope we can see more of your work soon. I suggest you put this in for photo of the day with a chance of winning photo of the month as it has great potential.
