Default Memphis Flood Pics

We here in Memphis are seeing history made with the near record water levels. I was out taking pics of the river when I happened upon one of our Pyramid arena as well as a Fox News reporter in a wierd shot. Don't know what it looked like on TV but looked odd from my perspective.

Well, this is the photo critique section, so here goes:

Photo 1: I keep looking at it, but there's really nothing compelling about the image. The pyramid, some river boats. So what? Just seems like a random snapshot

photo 2: again, seems kind of random. What COULD be compelling is illustrating how high the water is. The guy in the water doesn't help with that, the camera man doesn't help with that. Or is your intent to show the bizarre nature of a reporter actually in the water? If that's the case then the shot needs much tighter framing - that "story" fills up way too little of the frame.
