It's a nice image but if I had to critique Id say it's over sharpened. It also looks like its a crop and was only a small Part of the original image.

I'd try to get it sharper in the camera so you don't have to push sharpening so far with software, and also try to get closer or zoom in more with the camera.

Agree with schmintan. It's oversharpened. And because the background is so busy and detailed, the oversharpening really is overbearing.

And I think I'd probably crop differently, to make the bird the center of attention here.

Was the photo compressed by the forum? (See Two Buddhists talking)

But you've captured a really great moment/expression here. He's got a great expression on his face, and it's a good angle.

If you don't mind, I've done a little bit of rework (very very quickly, with an on-line editor no less) just blurring the background and recropping,
