I retreat to my wife's garden for a much better perspective. Canon 5D Mk II, 24-70 2.8L. Used Gary Fong flash deflector and a dark blue poster board behind the subject. C&C appreciated.

Walter, I love taking pics of flowers but never thought about an artificial background. Thank you for my tip of the day. Very nice image.

Great colors, nice composition. One thing I'd try differently is make the oblong green object in the lower left hand corner stand out less either though darkening or color adjustment, both of which are easier said than done.
Second suggestion is trivial but I mention it because it's one of those things that once I saw it I can't unsee it. The V shaped top of the leaves to the right of the flower has 3 faint borders between the green of the leaves and the blue of backdrop. Going from center of leaf to the backdrop I see a band of lighter green, then darker green then faint very light green, then backdrop. Don't have a suggestion for fixing it because I don't know what, if any, is due to the leaf's color, the lighting, the PP or image compression. |

Thanks. It may be a result of applying some additional PPng in Topaz Adjust 5

Really like everything about the flower, just looks great. Not sure about some of the leaves. Some look like they are out of focus but only around the outside edges. Is that something to do with the PP or am I just looking to hard?
