I used my long zoom lens at 300mm for these shots of my Flame Acanthus bush. My intent was narrow depth of field. These flowers are about an inch long to put things in perspective.

Thanks for all inputs. I tend to agree. This bush is a favotite of the local Hummingbirds and blooms profusely during the hottest period of the year. It is native to Texas.
