Quacking some eggs

Wanted to take a photo with a moderately shallow DOF, that put an aspect of the photo out of focus but still left no confusion as to what that item is.

After strolling about the house for ages taking pictures of loads of stuff, including the little ducks my girlfriend has dotted around the place, an idea started to form.

Im pretty happy with the result, but any feedback on how to improve the image for future ideas would be appreciated.

I learned a little more about using my flash on this project and learned also that i have a lot more to do to become competent in effective lighting.
