Default I have NO IDEA on how to shoot video at night

I have NO IDEA on how to shoot video at night, and I had to record this some how, so this is a thunder, lightning and rain storm we had August 28/29 2013

IT was super intense, and lasted for about 3hrs, this is 11 mins of it..

Weapons of choice:

FujiHS20 (used all the time)
Nikon Coolpix L24 (used all the time)
Nikon D60 DSLR (rarely used anymore)
Olympus 8000 (never used anymore, as I lost my data cable).

That was some storm, reminds me of the storms when we lived in Lake Charles, LA. As for taking a video at night, other than using a a video light and in your case a strong one, I have no other tips to add.

We get storms like this very rarely.. We get rain like that frequently.. Being the West coast of Canada, we're classed as a temperate rain forest, and torrential
down pours are common.. With it raining as hard as it was, I wasn't about to take my camera into that cr*p. and I didn't have my olympus with me..
