I figured I'd try posting a few pics here to get some opinions. I've owned a Canon S1IS for about a year now, but am just starting to actually use the thing. I'm enjoying this as a hobby, and as of now I know next to nothing about shooting pics. So here are two of my pics - first one I was pleased with, and suprised that I could see some of my reflection in the bottom half of the drop.

Any thoughts/ideas on these are certainly welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

First shot doesnt do much for me.

Second picture is a little more interesting.

Not sure why you took these shots? The color? The composition?

I'll admit, those shots are better than what I could take when I first started taking serious photos (probably still is). While I like the idea for your first photo, the composition doesn't work for me. I like your second photo, but part of the neighboring plant has been cut off. Nice use of depth of field though.
