I couldget more excited about it if the UK price wasn't going to be almost twice the US price.

yes, it is also pricy in Australia too. Still, so is everything else, so it is all relative.

Cheers,

Wayne

Hi Wayne

Here in the UK, it's more inconsistent than relative.

The price for the Epson R2400 is around £450 pre-tax (roughly US$850), while in the US the price is $849 - which makes them about the same price.

The price for the Epson 3800 is quoted at £995 pre-tax (roughly US$1900), while in the US the price is $1295.

Ultimately, it means that if you're a US customer you'll never buy the R2400 because the price difference to the 3800 is just US$400 - which would be justified just on the amount of ink that's in the 3800; but in the UK the price difference is over $1000.

I also think it's strange that Epson announced the 3800, citing its low price point in comparison to the larger 4800. But, looking at the prices, a US customer can buy the 4800 for cheaper than the UK customer can buy the 3800. I would imagine this must be familiar to you in Australia as well.

Epson are beingguilty oflocational discrimination for certain products, but notall products.

Yes, it happens here too, and not just with Epson.

Perhaps it is a cross us Commonwealth countries have to deal with

Cheers,

Wayne
